Wow. Hello, November! I can’t believe I’m in my eighth month of pregnancy. Where did the year go? Last week I rescued all the infant items from storage and have washed and scrubbed them all down. All of Gabriel’s clothes are washed and ready for him. His little outfit that he’s wearing home from the hospital is ready to be packed in my hospital bag (whenever I finally get around to packing that). Next week I go to the hospital for my Early Case Management to set up my birth plan and get a tour of the hospital (again). So yes, physically and emotionally we’re ready for baby. Financially? Well, not so much but at least both Ian and I are working again. He got a good job with a roofing company and started on Wednesday.
It would seem things are starting to turn around, but the only catch is that yesterday I got a notice to be out of this apartment by the 1st of December. How fun is that? Moving in the snow. Seems like we did that last winter as well. The new apartment manager here is a total douchebag, so I’ve been expecting the notice for awhile. Though why she had to wait until December is beyond me. Packing, finding a new apartment, trying to gather the rent + deposit and moving at a time when I’ll be ready to pop will be stressful to say the least. But we’ll manage. And maybe the worry of Dec. 1st approaching will take off my constant thoughts of “Is my due date here yet?!”
How was everyone’s Halloween? True to tradition, Wisconsin was freezing on Halloween night. The two days before? Beautiful. Sun shining, no wind. The day after? Exactly the same. Halloween? Rainy throughout the day, bitterly cold and windy throughout the night. Poor Mariah had a fur coat on under her costume, plus ear muffs and thick layers of extra clothing. Of course, she’s two so she barely noticed the cold in her excitement for “mo’ candy!”
We went trick or treating with my mother-in-law, my cousin-in-law and her 9 year old daughter. Mariah just loves her. I don’t think she even remembers her name half the time, she just refers to her as “my best friend.” Here’s an adorable picture of the two of them before we headed out for the night.
Mariah was pretty good at trick or treating considering it was her first real year. We did take her around when she was about 8 months old for her first Halloween, but obviously she didn’t remember that. Last year was way, way too cold. We didn’t even leave the house it was so bad. So this year was her first Halloween that she got to push the doorbells and holler “Trick or treat!.. Thank you.. Okay, let’s go next one, Mommmy!” and run back down the stairs to the next house. It was darling.
Though I think next year we’ll move to somewhere warmer. Halloween costumes without snow pants shoved underneath? Pretty appealing to me!

Wisconsin Halloweens always suck like that.. I remember it was SUCH a pain trying to find a costume to wear that would be warm enough, or that you could *make* warm enough without looking completely ridiculous. Bleh!
Mariah looks ADORABLE! I’m glad she had fun trick or treating.
Take care, and don’t stress too much about the move and stuff.. everything works out in the end. I wish you all the best. *hug*

This year was Alayna’s first real halloween too. She’s 2 this year so she was much more into it than she was last year.
Soooo cutee that picture is!!!
I’m in my 8th month too. I can’t believe it’s getting closer. You’re ahead of me in that you are washing items. I’m still working on WALLPAPER. I’m never going to get it done.
I just want it done before Olivia gets here!!! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy
