My mom and Mariah picked me and Gabriel up at 2:00pm today to take me to my annual eye appointment. She was feeling sore (due to her recent hysterectomy) after having Mariah for two nights, so she took me to my grandma’s where we met up with my dad. He then proceeded to take us to the clinic.
Hectic, no?
Once I finally got there, Gabriel and my dad stayed in the waiting room but Mariah wanted to go back with me. Since she’s well behaved, I agreed. She sat quietly on a chair playing with random items of my purse while the nurse checked my eyes. Why is it the nurse is the one doing all the work? I was with her for forty minutes and the doctor for MAYBE ten.
One part I hate the most about the eye check up is the eye drops. That nasty yellow crap to test for glaucoma? It STINGS and makes your eyes run like crazy. Then, once thats over, it dries into a sticky, crusty mess. Sexy for those close ups the doctor will do later. Next comes the drops to make your eyes dilate. Why the hell does that stuff HAVE to last four to six hours? Is there NO way of making it last less than that? Seriously. Its hard to do anything when you can barely fucking see. My eyes are still messed up from that.
Its just weird to go in for a healthy eye check up and come out with your eyes feeling worse than when you went in. Just sayin’.
In happier news! My packages came today.
I ordered a workout DVD to whip my butt into shape and then I ordered this t-shirt:

I love it!

I had to have my eyes dilated once b/c I had an ulcer on it. I would hate to have to do that every year, I puked so much from getting so dizzy.

I love the shirt and the way your blog frames the photo
I haven’t had to have my eyes dilated the past few times I’ve been into the optometrist. Ask your doctor about The Optomap Retinal Exam. It takes a photo of your retina in 1/4 of a second. The photo looks pretty awesome as well and there is no need to dilate your eyes.

I went to the eye doctor recently, but they don’t use any drops. He does have a thing that blows and evil puff of air into you eyes though. I hate that, my eyes start watering just from watching them do it to my brother. :/
That is an awesome shirt! Where did you get it?

Hehe about that shirt!! That’s awesome that the DVD came too!
Hehe, and yeah, I know what you mean about going to the optometrist. And I know what you mean about not seeing the doctor for long.

I know what you mean about those damn eyedrops! They hurt like hell. My mom has one of those DVDs, but sooo not that shirt. She’s embarrassed to wear stuff like that - I simply don’t know why. People should be confident about how they look. Not hide it! You getting that shirt is the perfect example, you’re not afraid.
When’s that last time I got my eyes checked?…..

My mum gets those drops every time she gets her eyes tested and she hates them. Always tells me that they make her feel dizzy and sick. Not very nice! I really like that T-shirt!

Ugh, I hate the eye doctors. Especially how close they get when they’re checking your eyes with that piercing light that lights up your veins. GET OUT OF MY PERSONAL SPACE!
Good luck with the workout DVD so you can rock that new shirt x]

Sorry I’ve been gone so long!!
I’ve been gone a couple weeks for a family reunion in Ontario, and then I switched over hosts because I didn’t like the one I was with. That took a while to do too. I’m sorry!
But I had getting my eyes tested. I have to get new glasses because mine broke. Ugh. And the warranty was only 1 year, and of course, my glasses had to break the week after it ran out. Argh.
The one time, I had to get this numbing stuff in my eye because there was a small pebble embedded in my eye. That lasted for a few hours and it was such a pain. It hurt after it wore off. Eeesh. I hate getting my eyes tested =(

I work my butt after videos from youtube. Haha!
The shirt is nice. I need to buy some shirts, but I never find something what I would really like.
I hate to make the eye check ups, but it is really necessary. You can’t play with your eyes.
