A Day At The Park
Posted on October 9th, 2008 @ 1:52 pm

Yesterday Crystal called me and asked if I would walk up to the clinic with her to get her prescription. It was a nice day and the day before had been so nasty and rainy, so I said yes. We got the kids ready and headed up town. When we got to the clinic she discovered that her prescription cost $10 more than she thought, so we just decided to go to the park which is located behind the clinic.

The kids LOVED it. Gabriel and Serena were content in the baby swings for the first 30 minutes or so. Mariah wanted to help push, so that kept her busy as well. Then we went to the slides for awhile. Gabriel went down a couple with me, then I took Serena down some. Mariah went down all of them about a million times. After awhile, the younger ones started getting cranky so we came back home and they went down for a nap.

Other than that, I haven’t been up to much. I had an interview at Best Buy the other day for a customer service position. Hopefully it went well… I think it did. Better than my EZ Money interview anyway! Last week a lady called me and asked if I could come in that night for an interview. I said I wasn’t sure if I could make it that night because my husband had the car and I couldn’t be sure when he would be home. She said, “Well, I’ll schedule it for 6:30 and if you can be in around that time, it’ll be fine.” So I agreed and ended up making it there at 6:38pm. 8 minutes late after I WARNED her that might happen. Well, what does she do? She tells me that they have a POLICY that if you’re late at ALL for an interview, its canceled. I told her that I TOLD her on the phone I might be late. Her response? “That’s not my problem.” Excuse me?! I was so freakin’ mad. I’m STILL mad. I told her I wasn’t too worried about working there after that and walked out.

I’m currently waiting for my Vonage router to arrive in the mail. I signed up when they had a deal going, so I ended up only paying the S/H for the router. The first month was free, the router was free and some other fees were knocked off, too. I can’t wait to try it. It makes more sense then the phone service we currently have (about $40 bucks a month AND we don’t have unlimited long distance. we have to pay for it). $25 dollars a month for unlimited long distance? Sounds good to me! The only suck is that Vonage didn’t have our town prefix available so I had to get one that will be long distance to our family and friends. However, all of them have unlimited long distance so that won’t be a problem.

Some photos from the park:

Gabriel swinging. He kept putting his foot like that. He’s so weird.

Tales from the Cranberry Lodge
Posted on August 9th, 2008 @ 12:03 pm

We had a blast at the Cranberry Country Lodge Wednesday and Thursday. Check in time was 3:00pm and we arrived shortly before that. We were lucky enough to have a room on the first floor and about as close to the Waterpark as you could get. So that was awesome. :) As soon as we were in our room, we changed into swimming suits and grabbed towels, a cooler of snacks and juices, cameras and other little items.

The Waterpark has a nice Toddlers area that we stayed in for most of the time. Later I did take Gabriel into the deep end, but Mariah said no way to that! The big pool’s water was SO cold that Gabriel started shaking. Needless to say, we weren’t in it after that. But he enjoyed the Toddlers area. The water there starts out at 1 inch and slowly gets deeper (1 1/2 feet at the deepest point).

Anyway, we had a great time. We went back to our room about 10:00, which is when the pools closed. Gabe and Mar didn’t even pass out until MIDNIGHT. They were hyper, hyper, hyper!

Here’s some photos:

Pretending to go down the slide. Yes, pretending. She hated the slides, but apparently wanted everyone to think otherwise.

Mariah decided she wanted to stay at my grandma’s Thursday night, so we dropped her off on our way through town. My mom dropped Gabriel and me off at our house and then headed home herself. Ian got home about five hours after we did and Gabriel enjoyed not having to share him with Mariah.

Oh, another thing about Gabriel (besides the fact that he turned EIGHT MONTHS on Thursday?! *tear*)… he QUACKS now. He makes a duck noise and if you do it to him, he’ll do it back. It is SO cute. It kept me entertained for nearly an hour the other day. Then he started laughing too hard and couldn’t do it anymore. Adorable!

Okay. Where was I?

Oh, yeah. Thursday night. The three of us went to bed around 9, which is EARLY for me and Ian! And Friday my dad came to watch Gabriel while Ian and I went out to dinner and then to The Dark Knight. FINALLY! I loved it. It was worth waiting for.

Today we’re going to the city as soon as Ian gets home from golfing. We’re purchasing tickets to next week’s Sevendust, Drowning Pool and Nonpoint concert! I’m so excited. I’ve only been to ONE other concert and that was John Mellencamp.

Feel free to share with me the concerts you’ve been to! :)
