So in two days, I’ll be in my last trimester. While I’m excited about entering the last part of this pregnancy, I also remember how “fun” the third trimester is. With my daughter, I had the easiest pregnancy ever and all of my discomforts attacked me in my third trimester. Now with this baby the entire thing has been one discomfort after another - so yeah, I’m worried. Like I said before, he’s a huge baby. I already feel stretched out and have trouble catching my breath with him always pushing up on my ribcage. It’s basically 24/7 of me feeling like my stomach skin is going to rip open. Maybe, just maybe I’ll catch a break and the third trimester will fly by without anything too painful. 12 weeks left, baby!
My daughter has been so funny lately. The things that come out of her mouth leave me wondering though. Where does she get this stuff? A “conversation” from the other day:
Mariah: Mommy! I want gum.
Me: No gum.
Mariah: But it’s good for me!
Me: It isn’t good for you, you can’t have any. You’ll swallow it.
Mariah: Nooo, I won’t swallow it. It’s good for me!
Rinse and repeat. “It’s good for me” is her favorite reply if she can’t have something. And sometimes it’s so hard not to start laughing when she’s arguing her point. Like her long drawn out “nooo”. Her voice gets all deep and serious. Yet as hard as it is to stay poker faced, once you break into a smile they’re even more impossible to talk down.
Another thing she did the other day: I’m walking by the fridge and hear a peculiar noise. Almost like a soft squeaking noise. Why is my fridge squeaking? An effing mouse?! IN the fridge? I cautiously opened the door and low and behold: my daughter’s baby kitten is sitting on the bottom shelf. And he was not happy. Mariah runs up and grabs him from me and the first words out of her mouth were “MOMMY. My kitty COLD! Be nice to kitty!” Hmm. I tried explaining how we don’t refrigerate our kitties, but she was already off in the magical land of 2 year old imagination.
I’m sure if she had a dog, she’d blame her coloring on the walls on him.

Can you believe this is the third freakin’ time I’ve typed this post? Wordpress and I cannot seem to get along at all. It delights in telling me I have no permission to do anything and loves erasing my posts when I hit Publish. Shotgun, anyone?
Today after many weeks of being broken, my garbage disposal is finally fixed. And it took moi to finally figure out how to do so. Hence the title of the post. I’m so proud of my mommy/housewife skillz - even though it took nothing more than locating a tiny reset button on the disposal and pushing it in. But still! It was awesome if I do say so myself. Which I will. Many times. When my husband gets home..
Friday my in-laws came to pick us all up and we headed off for Green Bay. It’s about a three hour drive as I live on the opposite side of the state. So we got in late that night and just sat around talking for awhile. Then on Saturday morning, we took my daughter to Bay Beach, this is a cute little amusement park designed for little kids. The tickets are only 25 cents which is a great deal since you pay three times that much per ride at the fair. Mariah took a little friend along and ended up having a blast. Her favorite seemed to be the Giant Slide, though towards the end she only wanted to stand at the top and watch everyone else go down it. Ian finally had to go up and bring her down, much to her (screaming) dismay.
After we left the park we headed back to hubby’s aunt’s house for a booya party. I think I ate four plates of food the entire night. Everyone kept bringing such awesome dishes it was hard to stay away. Mariah had an awesome time running around with all the little kids. She didn’t even go down for a nap which was surprising. Her mood was nice and cheerful though, which was even more surprising after the busy morning she had. Finally near 10pm she collapsed and slept almost 12 hours.
Right now I’m just waiting for my grandma to get off work so she can come pick Mariah up. She’s keeping her for the night and (hopefully) I’ll be able to get some cleaning done. If I actually dreg up the motivation to do any. Gabriel is getting so big, alls he does is sit in my ribcage during the day and pushes out. I’m already bigger at six months than I was at 8.5 (she was born two weeks early) months with Mariah. Needless to say, I am not looking forward to the labor!
