Oh my.

Whoops, has it really been 18 days since I blogged? I wish I could blame it on a super exciting life, but sadly that isn’t the case. I guess I’m just lazy and my life has been so boring lately. This pregnancy is draining me. I wake up in the morning feeling like I haven’t even slept. The entire day I pray my daughter to show signs of needing a nap just so I can take one, too. Yesterday I hit 36 weeks pregnant and I can tell these last four weeks are going to be incredibly long, even with the holidays as a distraction.

Anyway.. I’m too lazy to type out a detailed post of things I’ve done since the last time I updated, so here’s a list:

- Co-hosted a PartyLite party with my MIL on the 18th.
- Finally bought Gabe his bassinett/playpen.
- Got my hospital bag packed and filled out my birth plan with the hospital. I’m doing a water birth like I did with my daughter.

That’s about it. See how exciting my life is? Now I’m just patiently waiting for Thanksgiving (turkey!) and for December to arrive. I really want to go shopping this Friday for Black Friday because I’ve never done it and the deals sound awesome, but I doubt I can find someone crazy enough to want to go with me. I know my mom will never get up at 5:00 am and she hates shopping as it is lol. Maybe Hubby will get the day off (yeah, right) and take me.

We’ll have to see. I’ll be sure to post cute Thanksgiving pictures this week.

8 Months!

Wow. Hello, November! I can’t believe I’m in my eighth month of pregnancy. Where did the year go? Last week I rescued all the infant items from storage and have washed and scrubbed them all down. All of Gabriel’s clothes are washed and ready for him. His little outfit that he’s wearing home from the hospital is ready to be packed in my hospital bag (whenever I finally get around to packing that). Next week I go to the hospital for my Early Case Management to set up my birth plan and get a tour of the hospital (again). So yes, physically and emotionally we’re ready for baby. Financially? Well, not so much but at least both Ian and I are working again. He got a good job with a roofing company and started on Wednesday.

It would seem things are starting to turn around, but the only catch is that yesterday I got a notice to be out of this apartment by the 1st of December. How fun is that? Moving in the snow. Seems like we did that last winter as well. The new apartment manager here is a total douchebag, so I’ve been expecting the notice for awhile. Though why she had to wait until December is beyond me. Packing, finding a new apartment, trying to gather the rent + deposit and moving at a time when I’ll be ready to pop will be stressful to say the least. But we’ll manage. And maybe the worry of Dec. 1st approaching will take off my constant thoughts of “Is my due date here yet?!”

How was everyone’s Halloween? True to tradition, Wisconsin was freezing on Halloween night. The two days before? Beautiful. Sun shining, no wind. The day after? Exactly the same. Halloween? Rainy throughout the day, bitterly cold and windy throughout the night. Poor Mariah had a fur coat on under her costume, plus ear muffs and thick layers of extra clothing. Of course, she’s two so she barely noticed the cold in her excitement for “mo’ candy!”

We went trick or treating with my mother-in-law, my cousin-in-law and her 9 year old daughter. Mariah just loves her. I don’t think she even remembers her name half the time, she just refers to her as “my best friend.” Here’s an adorable picture of the two of them before we headed out for the night.

Mariah was pretty good at trick or treating considering it was her first real year. We did take her around when she was about 8 months old for her first Halloween, but obviously she didn’t remember that. Last year was way, way too cold. We didn’t even leave the house it was so bad. So this year was her first Halloween that she got to push the doorbells and holler “Trick or treat!.. Thank you.. Okay, let’s go next one, Mommmy!” and run back down the stairs to the next house. It was darling.

Though I think next year we’ll move to somewhere warmer. Halloween costumes without snow pants shoved underneath? Pretty appealing to me!
